Abstract Infrared investigation has been carried out on 10 representative samples from the newly discovered West Sebaiya phosphate deposit (Nile Valley phosphate). Three samples are from area A which is actually under exploitation and the rest of the samples are from the area B which is under investigation for future exploitation. Study of the obtained IR spectra revealed that, phosphate mineral in West Sebaiya phosphate deposit is mainly carbonate fluorapatite (francolite) which was previously supported by studies performed on related occurrences (Nile Valley phosphate). |
